Crashing at splash screen
Cannot start the game. Ran well for a while until one day when it wouldn't start; I open the game, the splash screen comes up, sits like that for about a minute or two, and then closes. Ubisoft's "oh no, it crashed" thing comes up, and Ubisoft Connect opens.

Sometimes, the crash will appear in the Event Viewer:
The program ACOrigins.exe, version 0.0.0.0 terminated because it stopped interacting with Windows. Additional information about the problem may be found in the problem history in Security and Maintenance in Control Panel.
Process ID: 5930
Start Time: 01dbe15ca027c330
Exit Time: 4294967295
Application Path: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Assassins Creed Origins\ACOrigins.exe
Report ID: 5fed9ac0-dcf6-4f4e-83d1-c878af1492aa
Full name of the offending package:
Application ID relative to the offending package:
Lock Type: Top level window is idle

Things that I have tried:
- Reinstalling Ubisoft Connect
- Reinstalling the game
- Moving the game from C: drive to any other drive
- Clearing cache on both Steam and Ubisoft Connect
- Upgrading GPU (this issue happened both on my old 3060 Ti and now on my RX 9070)

I never got to finish the game, so any help would be appreciated.

same for me, uplay is just broken, i tried running uplay and then running the game but that didnt work (because when i tried to run the game without uplay, the game tried to start it but no good)
Had the same thing happen to me at first. You can't just run it off Steam, unfortunately. You need an Ubisoft Connect account and to download their stupid little games launcher. After I set up all of that, the game still wouldn't run nor would Ubisoft Connect link up with my Steam account the way it was supposed to do. So I rebooted my PC and tried again. That worked. It seems like a reboot is necessary to get all the software to recognize each other once you have all the accounts set up.
It won't launch for me, even with the Ubisoft Connect launcher.

I'm facing the same problem again, and on top of that, I can't even install Ubisoft Connect now! Why does it have to be this complicated?

Exact same issue I am having, did you refund the game or did you somehow got it worked out?

Please start with read our guide on Troubleshooting technical issues on PC[www.ubisoft.com] and follow all the steps in it.

An important step is to make sure to disable all additional and unnecessary applications working in the background, especially 3rd party overlays, communicators, system tools and monitoring software.
Disabling background applications on PC[www.ubisoft.com]

Reinstall supporting software[www.ubisoft.com] like DirectX and Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable.

Clear Steam Cache folder

Clear Ubisoft Connect PC Cache[www.ubisoft.com]

If you are using Nvidia App to optimise the game, revert it to default and close it, please.

If you overclock or undervolt your CPU or GPU, reset it to default and try again.

If these steps do not help you, please generate DxDiag and MsInfo system reports[www.ubisoft.com] and Contact Us.[www.ubisoft.com]

The issue is that the Ubisoft Connect App is not recognizing the purchase from Steam even when the accounts are linked. I have been going back and forth all morning and nothing.

Ok, after going back and forth with UbiSoft all morning, I moved the files from the "D:" driver to the "C:" drive after clearing the Cache for both Steam & Ubisoft Connect, then restarted everything including the computer and now it works.
